About Poland

Hello, welcome to my site about Poland. After living in Poland for over 15 years, being married here and part of the time working in Poland I know how "different" the country is when compared to most of other countries in Europe and North America.

I realize that the tourist guides and web sites sometimes paint a glossy picture of some areas of Poland and Polish life, which does not truly prepare the visitor for some of the cultural differences. Knowing some of these differences and practices may make a visit to Poland more enjoyable.

So this site has been put together to give a "warts and all" view of Poland from an ex pat, but I also hope to give the visitor some ideas of interesting and beautiful places to visit whilst you are in Poland.

My pen name is Crayden, if you want to know more about any subject please email me. I am a Yorkshireman and I live with my family, in the South West of Poland about thirty kilometers from the Czech border. My wife works in a government department I on the other hand am a consultant working Internationally. My son is now an intern doctor in the Polish Medical system.

I am nearly sixty years old and have traveled extensively in my business; I now spend more time at home. This gives me a chance to pursue some of the interests I maintain which include this web site.

I also have a site about entrepreneurship and starting a new business, Entrepreneur-ideas.org this is an attempt to use my professional services to help people starting a new business or who don't know where to start.
