Poznan is one of the oldest cities in Poland and has been the centre of trade for several centuries. The cathedral is steeped in history and holds the tombs of the first Polish rulers.

The city hosts many large conferences and exhibitions throughout the year and much of the local infrastructure is geared to this business.
