Torun
Torun is a world heritage city and one of the most beautiful in Poland, the river Vistula runs through the cent er of the city where small alleys and cobbled streets run from the riverbank to the heart of the city. During the second world war very little of the original city has been disturbed and today there are many original Gothic 16th century original buildings. The population of the city is about 200,000.
The city has many international companies within its area, in particular Sharp Electronics, this has led to a considerable Japanese community. The main Industry of the city is Tourism although there are insufficient hotels in the city.
There are new shopping, entertainment centers and Malls in the city with all the usual amenities. Most of the new constructions have been funded by the European Union but tastefully completed and do not conflict with the old Gothic architecture and streets.
I consider the city a "must visit" for tourists, it is full of Polish culture and warmth..
Interesting Facts:-
